POSITION SUMMARY
The Maintenance Electrician Trainee supports the electrical and controls infrastructure of the insectary under the guidance of a journey-level or senior Maintenance Electrician. The role assists with diagnostics, repair, installation, calibration, and preventive maintenance on facility power and control systems (including Argus Controls). This is a learning role intended to build toward full journey-level capability while following all company safety policies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with System Diagnostics & Repair – Support troubleshooting of power and control systems (sensors, relays, motors, pumps) on 120/240V single- and three-phase circuits under supervision.
- Preventive & Corrective Maintenance – Perform inspections, cleaning, basic calibration, and component replacements (e.g., light fixtures, conduit, control wiring) following standard procedures.
- Controls Support (Argus) – Assist with sensor checks, data logging review, and basic adjustments in Argus Titan 900; escalate advanced issues to senior staff.
- Installation & Modifications – Pull wire, place conduit, mount boxes/fixtures, and make terminations as directed; maintain tools and materials in safe working order.
- Safety & Compliance – Consistently apply company safety rules and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) under direction; identify and report hazards immediately.
- Documentation – Complete work orders, calibration logs, and parts usage accurately and on time.

Description
The HR Coordinator provides comprehensive support to the HR department in the areas of payroll, recruiting, onboarding, benefits, compliance, training, and employee relations. This position is responsible for end-to-end weekly and bi-weekly payroll processing across multiple states while also contributing to the design and implementation of HR policies, programs, and training initiatives.
This is not solely a transactional role; the HR Coordinator is expected to apply knowledge of HR best practices and employment law to support compliance, improve processes, and contribute to a positive employee experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Payroll & HRIS (Core Function)
- Lead full-cycle weekly and bi-weekly payroll processing for multistate employees (non-exempt and exempt).
- Validate timesheets, overtime, differentials, premiums, deductions, reimbursements, and benefit contributions.
- Ensure compliance with California and other state wage and hour laws (meal/rest premiums, final pay, sick leave, OT/doubletime).
- Reconcile payroll registers, resolve discrepancies, and coordinate with Finance/Accounting for funding and reporting.
- Maintain payroll and HRIS data accuracy; partner on payroll-related policy development and compliance updates.
HR Policy, Compliance & Process Improvement
- Assist in the creation, implementation, and communication of HR policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Assist in the propagation and rearing of bumblebees according to company protocols.

· Perform tasks such as feeding, harvesting, sorting, and transferring live insects with precision and care.
· Prepare, package, and label live insect shipments for customer delivery in accordance with quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform meticulous counting and data collection of arthropods using stereoscopes, microscopes, aspirators, and analytical balances.
- Accurately record, organize, and analyze data for quality and production metrics.
- Assist with various QA sampling and analysis methods including Cone-n-cut, Wet counts, Tape counts, Emergence counts, and Aspirator counts.
- Operate computers proficiently to generate reports and ensure timely communication of QA findings.
